The National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack

January 29th marks the The National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action Against Islamophobia.

On this day six years ago the congregation at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Quebec City was the the victim of a horrific Islamophobic attack. The victims were Khaled Belkacemi, Aboubaker Thabti, Azzeddine Soufiane, Mamadou Tanou Barry, Abdelkrim Hassane, Ibrahima Barry. While many others were injured.

Sunday January 29th serves as a day to honour the lives of those who were lost and those who were injured and their families. It also is a day to renew our commitment to continue the fight against those who chose to spread hate and fear in all its forms.

This Sunday evening, the Muslim Society of Guelph welcomes all those who wish to join us for the evening Isha prayer or wish to pay their respects and honor the victims of this tragedy and all those whom we have lost to acts of Islamophobia.

Doors will be open from 6:30pm.
