Last Ten Nights of Ramadan

Praise belongs to Allah who guided us to His praise.

Dear Community Members Assalam-O-Alaikum WRB Alhamdulillah we have completed the 20 nights of Ramadan and started the last ten nights from tonight Insha’Allah. Those who are planning to do ite’kaaf will need to be at the masjid on Thursday, March 20, 2025, before the maghrib prayers.  Read the rules for ite’kaaf. We pray to Allah to accept everyone’s fast. ‘And praise belongs to Allah who appointed among those roads His month, the month of Ramadan‘. Our weekly iftar/dinner are going very well and so far we have provided over 600+ meals each weekend for iftar. We are requesting everyone to continue register so the proper arrangements can be made. 

• • Insha’Allah there will be two more weekly iftar/dinner events during the last 10 days of Ramadan  – If you want to sponsor iftar event, please let us know). Kindly register for the weekly events 
  • Khatam al Quran will be on the night of 29th of Ramadan (Friday, March 28, 2025). Dessert and Sweets will be provided by the sisters of the community. 

• • Halaqa and Sahoor with Imam Mubeen Butt or those spending the 27th and 29th night at the masjid on March 27 & 29, Thursday and Saturday morning at 4:30 AM
• • Qiyam al-layl to begin from Friday,  March 21, 2025, at 3:30 AM Insha’Allah. 
  • EID AL FITR will be on Sunday,  March 30, 2025 Insha’Allah. Details of Eid program will come at later date.

Final update on fundraising will be held at Taraweeh on Friday March 28, 2025. Insha’Allah followed by memorizing Qirat by world renowned Qari IBRAHIM BAKEER. The Muslim Society of Guelph has been working hard to serve the community in Guelph and surrounding area. Allah has blessed us so much and enabled us in 2012 to get a great space (elementary school building) and to convert part of it into a masjid in addition to Montessori and Islamic school to serve our community. Allah is always with us through great times and tough times. We are excited about the expansion of our building and how it will affect the lives of more and more people for many years to come. We are seeing our future building filled with people in various activities. Alhamdulillah, the phase III (current phase) of the construction project is well underway. We have successfully completed several milestones since the last Ramadan. However, due to the higher inflation the cost has increased significantly. We are requesting your prayers and support to realize the long awaited dream of building the first ever masjid from ground up in Guelph. Current & upcoming Construction Cost:

• Sprinkler System: $145K
• Fire Alarm: $95K
• Electric Upgrade: $150K (3 phase 600 watts  600 amps Service)
• Elevator: 15K (Final payment)
• Drywalls, insulation, flooring: $150K
• Total Cost expected cost: $555K
• Funds needed to complete the current phase: ~$600K

Our hearts are heavy for our Palestinian brothers and sisters who are enduring immense suffering during these blessed nights of Ramadan. While we may not be able to end the violence, we can respond to the call of those in desperate need. MSOG encourages our community to channel their generosity through trusted international relief organizations providing essential aid on the ground. At the same time, MSOG remains committed to educating policymakers on the humanitarian crisis and urging them to reconsider their positions on the loss of Palestinian civilian lives. Through our Building Bridges program and ongoing engagement with all levels of government, we continue to advocate for justice, peace, and the protection of all innocent lives. May our collective efforts bring relief to those in need, and may our prayers be answered.

There will be special prayers (dua) after maghreb prayers (before iftar) for those suffering in Yemen, Sudan, Gaza, Afghanistan, and all around the world on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Water Street Masjid led by IMAM IBRAHIM GANGAT & IMAM MUBEEN BUTT

The monthly expenses to run your community Centre and organize the daily and Friday prayers are $15,000. Kindly participate and take care of the OPERATION of your MASJID for ONE DAY by donating.
