Welcoming Dhul Hijjah & Eid al-Adha 2025

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

InshaAllah, the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah begins on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

• Day of Arafah: Thursday, June 5, 2025
• Eid al-Adha: Friday, June 6, 2025

As pilgrims gather for Hajj, we pray for a Hajj Mabroor. May Allah accept their efforts and return them home safely. Ameen.

Virtues of the First 10 Days of Dhul Hijjah

Hajj is a profound act of worship, symbolizing our struggle against temptation and our devotion to Allah. The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are the most beloved to Allah for righteous deeds.

Allah says in the Qur’an:
وَالْفَجْرِ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ
“By the dawn, and [by] the ten nights.”
(Surah Al-Fajr 89:1-2)

قال رسول الله ﷺ:
«ما من أيام العمل الصالح فيها أحب إلى الله من هذه الأيام»
قالوا: يا رسول الله، ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله؟
قال: «ولا الجهاد في سبيل الله، إلا رجل خرج بنفسه وماله فلم يرجع من ذلك بشيء»
(رواه البخاري)

The Prophet ﷺ fasted on the Day of Arafah and encouraged us to do the same, promising:
قال رسول الله ﷺ:
«صيام يوم عرفة أحتسب على الله أن يكفر السنة التي قبله والسنة التي بعده»
(رواه مسلم، 1162)

Sunnah: If you intend to offer Qurbani, refrain from cutting your hair and nails from May 28 until after your sacrifice, as practiced by the Prophet ﷺ.
