This update is a reminder to remain vigilant and continue to follow public health protocols to minimize the risk of COVID-19. Case numbers in Guelph are rising very quickly and Public Health has announced that Guelph will be heading into Red Level later this week in an effort to reduce transmission. This means not having anyone in your home who does not already live there, along with other restrictions.
We are finding out about many cases of COVID19 within our MSOG community, which also means greater risk to those who are attending Friday prayers. We remind you that using masks when you are outside of your home and good handwashing for the whole family is one of the best ways to stay safe. We ask that you use the self assessment tool before coming to the masjid. The online tool can be found at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/
If you or anyone from your household is experiencing any one of these symptoms they must stay home. They also must be tested and can only return to masjid with a negative test result:
- Fever and/or chills
- Cough or barking cough (croup)
- Shortness of breath /Out of breath/ Unable to breathe deeply
- Decrease or loss of smell and/or taste
For the following symptoms, they must also stay home. They require a test if they experience multiple symptoms, or develop symptoms from the above list.
- Sore throat or difficulty swallowing
- Runny or stuffy/congested nose
- Headache that is unusual or long lasting
- Nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Extreme tiredness or muscle aches
- Fatigue, lack of energy
(Assessment pages are attached)
Using this assessment and staying home when any symptoms arise, help us keep everyone safe and our masjid open! You can call the COVID Test Centre at 226-773-1922 to book a test.
MSOG management is doing all we can to ensure the safety of our community. Your help is greatly appreciated.
