Dear Community Members Assalaamalaikum,

Ramadan is passing us by with great speed!  Muslim Society of Guelph (MSOG) has been working hard to become more than just a space for prayer but a community builder. As we continue to grow and support our various community needs, we are in need of your support.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.”

The past two years have been difficult with shutdowns and limited access to the masjid for prayer and community gathering. Ramadan and Eid have been particularly difficult.  While the MSOG had the privilege to organize and host various events online and as drive thrus, it has become very apparent just how central and important the masjid is to our community. These activities are extremely important to our community and are a place to connect with other families and engage in spirituality, prayer and learning.

As we make our way back to the masjid our space holds even more value. Our growing community is in need of a centre that can meet the needs of families both young and old and acts as a central pillar to our community.

“The parable of those who spend their possessions for the sake of God is that of a grain out of which grow seven ears, in every ear a hundred grains: for God grants manifold increase unto whom He wills; and God is infinite, all-knowing.” (2:261)
